What I Do
![]() | For over thirty years I have freelanced as a graphic designer and illustrator. I have contracted with large corporations, small businesses, and non-profit organizations. My design studio, Primitive Tools, is a collaborative of individuals with expertise in graphic design, editorial coordination, page layout, and production. I enjoy working with my publishing clients. However, I'm always on the prowl for different creative challenges, too. |

A number of years ago, I rolled up my sleeves, learned basic HTML (a major left-brain challenge!) and put together the Scribbles Institute Web site. I started the Scribbles Institute to help students, parents, and teachers learn about drawing and visual art. With help from my favorite test pilots, I continue to create content and products that help people use drawing for work, school, and enjoyment.

I started DoodleZine, the magazine for young artists, to help children realize their innate drawing abilities, develop confident drawing skills, and to transfer their drawing skills to academic and everyday life.
And of course, there is my passion: drawing! drawing! drawing! Please check out my latest explorations and investigations of the world inside and outside of my head. Please feel free to leave your comments. Enjoy! | ![]() |
